To provide industry requirements and skills in the Hospitality sector, Don Bosco Tech (Sabbavaram, Andhra Pradesh) organized a guest lecture on May 10, 2019. Mr Nippulapalli Ravi (Food and Beverage Manager, Date Restaurant) invited as the resource person for the Guest Lecture. Ms Pentakota Ramalaxmi (Hospitality Trainer) along with Sr. Pedakotla Rani (CE & ITeS Trainer) welcomed Mr Nippulapalli Ravi to the training centre.

Mr. Ravi started the guest lecture by conducting self-introductions of the trainees and motivated them by saying them about his personal life. He explained about the Hotel Industry and its important departments such as Front Office, Food and Beverage Services, F&B Production and Housekeeping. Later he explained sub-department in Hotel Management. He interacted with students and highlighted some points about Hotel Management.

He insisted on the utmost care that is to be provided to the guest from the moment they step in, till they leave the hotel. He also clearly explained about the cooking procedures of few significant dishes and told the techniques of preparing food.

He further explained about employment opportunities available in the Hotel Industry. At the end of the guest lecture, the students gained knowledge about the following points:

• Main Departments

• Sub Departments

• Placements.

While concluding the guest lecture, Mr. Ravi said, “It is my privilege to come to Don Bosco Tech (Sabbavaram) and thanks to the team for giving me this opportunity to interact with the students. I really appreciate Don Bosco Tech for offering such expensive courses free of cost to the poor and needy youth especially. I request all trainees that make use of the opportunity in a proper way so that you can stand by your own feet in society. I request all the trained to spread this centre and course with their near and dear ones so that let others also can benefit.”

At the end of the lecture, Sr. Rani thanked Mr. Nippulapalli Ravi for sharing his valuable knowledge with the students. He motivated the trainees to treat the guest with utmost respect irrespective of tips and other benefits. The trainees were encouraged by his words and agreed to follow his guidelines at the workplace. The session was winded up with a group photo.
